One of my desert-island-Martinů-discs, this Chandos disc from 1990 is pure joy. The Sinfoniettas are sunny, lyrical, and neoclassical in temperament. The Sinfonietta Giocosa is one of my favorite works. It's pretty remarkable too that that the Sinfonietta Giocosa ("Jolly" or "Playful" Little Symphony) was composed largely on trains while he and his wife were fleeing the Nazi occupation of France. It really is jolly, though, and is guaranteed to make the listener's ears and mind excessively happy; it does that for me anyhow!! The Sinfonietta La Jolla is also a charming work, again in Martinu's oft neoclassical style. Toccata e Due Canzoni is opulently melodic and beautiful as well. The first movement is one of the best examples of "perpetual motion" that you're ever likely to hear. Enjoy!

vez esa sensación que dice el Evangelio que sintieron dos discipulos de Jesús,que anduvieron con el,mas sin reconocerlo,y luego dijeron:¿no nos ardia el corazón cuando nos hablaba?...caray,eso debia ser la leche...arder el corazón...¿conoce a alguien que pueda decir lo mismo?

One of my favorites who has barely been recorded (so frustrating!!) is Julius Chajes. His "Israeli Melodies" for Strings is quite beautiful, and they are all (6 mvts) based on Israeli folk songs. Also a big fan of Yehezkel Braun, another composer whose music needs more recordings. There's many more but I won't list em all here ;)

Creo que esto es una cosa muy misteriosa
que nunca podremos dilucidar,pues son
cosas inasibles que se nos escapan entre
los dedos...como la consciencia de nuestro
propio ser,el tiempo y la eternidad...a veces,
he pensado en Dios,(no soy de religión alguna),
antes de la creación de las cosas,y siempre
me ha llamado la atención que la gente no se
pregunte estas cosas,sobre todo los creyentes,
es decir,si Dios estaba solo y no habia NADA,
y si el tiempo tambien se extiende infinitamente
en el pasado,ETERNAMENTE,y si NO habia luz y todo
era OSCURIDAD y FRIO,quiero decir que Dios,debia
ser PLENO y COMPLETO y SATISFECHO y no puedo
lograr dar con el adjetivo que lo califique,para
una persona que ha estado ETERNAMENTE SOLO,en la
mas absoluta de las tinieblas,en fin,abrumador,y
sobre todo,la pregunta:¿Que le llevo a empezar a
crear,si como habia demostrado,era la misma
Plenitud y Contentamiento y NO nos necesitaba ni
a nosotros ni ninguna cosa?
El Amor es la cosa mas misteriosa del Universo...
Sospecho que cuando Salomón decia que no hay nada
nuevo bajo el Sol,la verdad,era literal,y que mis

Sí, entiendo lo que está diciendo; música toca nuestros corazones, mentes y souls..literally es vibraciones en el air..how Cómo se reciben y se sienten tan movido, por lo transportado? Debo decir que yo no soy religioso en absoluto o bien, sin embargo tengo un cierto grado de espiritualidad a través de la música de alone..it bastante catártico.
