Lamentations: Tomás Luis de Victoria - Don Carlo Gesualdo - Robert White - Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina Palestrina - Nordic Voices - Chaconne/Chandos 2009

Going back in time quite a bit for a beautiful disc of lamentations or 'Tenebræ' by four of the greatest composers of the 16th century. The subject matter needless to say is sombre but the enjoyment factor is first-class. I'm including the booklet notes, especially helpful since time is rarely on my side.
