Sorry for the lil lapse in posting..it had been a busy week, and full of more grief than I would have wished. Here is a quick (and great) offering for now, it's a Klavier Records disc from 2000 called "Buried Treasure" with the ensemble Chamber Music Palm Beach. This is charming music for winds, however there's also some strings (violin, viola, cello, doublebass) in a few of the (equally charming) pieces. It's a nice varied program, the music of Hovhaness following the "Deux Aubades" by Lalo for example. My favorites on the disc are Poulenc's "Mouvments Perpetuels" (I love anything by Poulenc! His chamber music is especially exciting, and he wrote a lot of it thankfully!), as well as Randall Thompson's "Suite" for Oboe, Clarinet and Viola (Randall Thompson is another one of my favorite American composers, I don't understand why it's in fact the "other" American (Virgil) Thompson that gets more attention), and of course the Hovhaness Suite. Not to mention the Nielsen "Serenata.." and Muczynski's "Fragments". (I might as well say I fancy the whole disc, which I do)
I don't have time to write any real info or thoughts about the program right now, however I know that many of you (esp. all you wild and crazy wind addicts out there ;) will truly enjoy listening to all the music presented here. If anyone wishes that I write notes about the disc when I can feel free to let me know. I will try to post other "Buried Treasures" this evening. Enjoy...

Ugh - sorry it's been a foul week - music can always help, but sometimes...!
As maybe you know now, not really 'into' chamber music, but some pleasant-sounding items here, so will enjoy listening before bed tonight !
Look forward to you getting back to full enthusiasm soon.
Sorry to hear of your unfortunate week.may things improve quickly.Dont worry about the posting, the "beast" can wait. unless it helps you keep your mind off things.Be well.
Hi cjv, thanks, things are what they are as is said. Well, with each new Chamber offering you just might find a few gems along the way that makes you ultimately a convert! Enjoy (I hope) -Tz
Hiya t.b.a.
Thanks for your kind words. To be honest posting/uploading/ripping/writing etc. for the blog is one of my greatest escapes these days. And i'm all about "divertissement", music and film for me is the best kind. Reality can be a tad to jagged. For me i think it always is. -Regards Tz
I'm sad you've had a bad week, and I hope things get much better fast!
And I really appreciate how much great music you share with us!
sneffels thank you for your kind comments; I have to say it means quite a bit to me to receive friendly words from the people who I "meet" on my blog. That's indeed the motivation I love to keep on posting, human (gasp!) contact on the 'net...where it *is* possible for people to reach out to one another when they're passionate about the same things. Kind regards -Tz
