the Prokofiev and Kodaly. The Lt. Kijé Suite and the Háry János Suite simply doesn't get any better than this. This is actually the album that got me into classical music over 20 years ago!
George Szell is of course another legendary conductor and there are many other "Great Performances" discs in the series focusing on Szell. They are all well worth hearing. Definitely add this to your collection and as always enjoy!

I agree with you. I own an original vinyl copy. Sometimes the first version we hear and love becomes the standard with which we compare all others.
