Silence is not golden - El silencio no es de oro

Greetings. I just wanted to say, I'm still surprised that not one person has commented on the recent post of Arnold Rosner. I made a request for feedback, with all caps even. I ask because his music
is that of a master, and I'm proud to share it with everyone. The Rosner has been downloaded over
150 times already, someone must be enjoying it. I started a blog because I love that other bloggers
are willing to share, I am grateful for that-but more importantly because it's my passion and yours
too if you visit my page. I am not asking everyone to comment on everything, that would be silly.
My blog has had over 50,000 visitors/hits since I started it, so it would be nice to hear that it's
appreciated by more than the regular few visitors who are kind enough to take 1-2 minutes to share a thought. For me sharing is a love-but it also needs to be a tad more "human". Many bloggers post and post and post whether visitors comment or not. For me that's depressing; I already own all this music and don't really need to spend the time importing & uploading etc. if it seems like only 3 or 4 people
are "visiting". I don't mean to sound like I'm preaching, far from it- sharing thoughts AND music are both important to me, that's all it is. I used to run many classical forums where people simply talked about the music and composers. It needn't feel desolate around here. So I approach a blog as a "social animal"..we all are after all. Anyway, thanks for reading, & do speak up when you can :-)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saludos.

P.S. I'm not trying to sound like a self-righteous ass; I don't think I do...I just want to feel the urge to keep on posting and often it seems like a waste of time. Cheers & good weekend to all

Hi, I understand your reaction, it is a general problem in the blog world. I have been running my main blog since 2007, and got frustrated by the infrequency of comments as well, maybe one oer week in spite of hundreds of views per day. In the end, I turned the comment function of altogether. Please keep sharing rarities (I actually had picked up the Rosner elsewhere in the past). I for one will at least use the clickable reactions every time I download something.

I agree with Johannes: please, change the blog lay out to a more reading-friendly one. That will help, particularly to those of us getting older and losing sight capacity...

I'm sorry that I have not commented more frequently, although I have downloaded from you constantly. Often I download and may not listen to the recording for a few days at which time I am guilty of not returning to the blog and commenting.
So here is a handful of overdue thank yous.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you.

Gracias:
Javier

Hello Tzadic! Im saddened to read of how you feel.As it happens I haven't even gotten around to listen to Rosners new post. The only thing left is to thank you for the post.Thank you very much from Jerusalem, and rest assure that your efforts are treasured, and the music receives its due i.e. Exposure to many appreciative listeners.

Yes, you're quite right - it's too easy, with so much to visit & to profit from, to just take things for granted & forget the efforts made to provide the sites.
I've only found you recently, but as a lover of newer, less appreciated music you're one of my favourite places to visit !
Rosner I'd be quite happy to try, but am a 'non-specialist' music lover, & not erudite enough to appreciate most solo/chamber music. Just love the big works !
Anyway, many thanks are due, & please don't feel you're unappreciated; I'm an 'older' person, & my musical adventures on-line are the highlights of my life nowadays.

otro abrazo!!

Hello,

I agree with the majority of the comments above.

I look at all the comments you make about the recordings that you have uploaded, but only a few times I download the files - the music then resides in my media files until it comes up in "my radio", by which time I do not know where the file came from.

So for the music that I have downloaded THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Don't be deterred and downhearted.

Do please keep the blog running.

Cheers,

Douglas (UK)

I'd like to comment more often in blogs, but my english is so bad... Can't really articulate serious comments about the music, so I'll only say thank you!

Hi!

The problem is that just a few people comment after downloading, the same is true on other blogs and sites.

I share music on Avaxhome and I usually get maybe one comment for every 100 downloads or so. And often it is the same folks who thank me anyway. That's just the way it is.

I, as I am sure most other downloaders here, am grateful for your efforts and the music you share. We all have different tastes, and they reflet the music we share on our blogs. Don't be discouraged and keep up the good work! Stay positive!

Best regards,
Piterets (from Avax)

Hola Tzadik.

Saludos !!

Greetings Piterets (are you from Russia---->St. Petersburg?) and thank you for the comment. Yes, you have mentioned Avax, that site is actually new to me-only heard of it like 5 months ago! I never have used it or downloaded from there. Again thanks for taking a minute to reach out friend. Cheers

Halo Willy, actually your english is fine-better than plenty of people in the States who can't speak any other language but english and do so poorly ;) Thank you for your comment!!

Hello Douglas, thanks for chiming in sir :) I do understand what you are saying, there's a wealth of music to be had out there and it can get confusing. I for one comment on other blogs right after I download something or am about to, but it's just my particular friendly style. I hear ya though! And thanks for the thanking ;) -Toodle pip

Tzadik said...

Tzadik said...

Hello cjvinthechair and thank you for replying! I understand what you are saying, indeed it took me a couple years at first, a long time ago to fully appreciate chamber/solo/vocal music as much as I did orchestral and symphonies. You should try Rosner, his music is highly accessible really and original as well; it's often modal, large gorgeous arches of sound, w occasionally dissonances. -He has written much "big" music, from symphonies to concertos and other orchestral works...and operas too. Much of my free time is spent online too so I'm with you on that! Regards

Tzadik said...

Hey theblueamos your appreciation is never in question :) But thank you for commenting here, It makes me feel better to get such friendly comments from everyone. The best Rosner is yet to come-my fav disc (of all time) has Rosner, Dello Joio, and Hovhaness-ironically I am having a bitch of a time locating it! Cheers friend

Hey Eric thank you sir for the thank you X five or whatever is was ;) Quite appreciated. I know you have been enjoying the posts and that makes me happy friend. Regards

Greets nhac, I didn't see your email but i have been busy. that's the only reason i didn't get back to you yet! Talk soon..

Hi Joan, ok and thanks for the recommendation; I suppose I was going for the aesthetics, however I can see how the dark colors make it difficult! Will work on that :) Kind regards!

Tzadik said...

Saludos

Hey Art Rock (like a more sophisticated "Kid Rock"?)
;-) yes indeed it can be a thankless job at times, however I love the music and have a compulsion to share so that does help a bit, I lick my wounds that way heehee. Actually I'm guilty myself of not really checking your blogs, I recall checking your profile but then getting caught up w random daily stuff and thus forgetting to come visit. Guilty as charged am I. -So did you find Rosner via filesharing, or did you simply buy one of the cds etc? Best, Tz

Tzadik said...

Saludos amigo

Hey Piterets; I had a feeling you were from St. Petersburg; most of my family came/comes from Russia, Ukraine, and also Poland so I guess I could tell ;) I will check your Avax blog, thanks in advance! The disc with Harrison/Ung/Mcphee...do you need it? I have it. Kind regards

I had never heard of Rosner. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm which draws me to try to hear the greatness, I will start with the symphonies I think because they seem accessible to me. Thanks again.

Tzadik said...

Thanks for the kind words bruis. Most people have never heard of Rosner sadly. You should also try the Orchestral music of Arnold Rosner that I posted a while back, there's some of his best (recorded) pieces on there, esp the Concerto Grosso. Cheers friend
