Arvo Part - Fratres/Festina Lente/Summa/Cantus in memory of Benjamin Britten

Arvo Part is 79 years old today. What a treasure he is. Being that his birthday is September 11th, I always end up thinking about the tragedy that was 9/11 and Part's deep spiritualism and
his strong religious convictions..and how his timeless music is oft awash in mysticism. While there
is no connection needless to say other then the date, it just seems to be a juxtaposition of cosmic
proportions. So, posting his "Fratres" (Brothers) seems most appropriate. I still love these Naxos
versions, even with other greats (ECM, Telarc, and others) on the playing field. Enjoy.
